IDENTIFYING THE BEST OF THE BEST

Those members of our association who have taken the time and energy to obtain their certification, have distinguished themselves in Ohio’s remodeling industry.

Being certified provides remodeling professionals with formalized standards of technical expertise, business management and ethical conduct. In order to sit for the certification examination, a contractor is required to have a minimum of five years of continual service in the remodeling industry, complete a qualification matrix detailing their background and experience, and pass a series of industry-related exams.

In order to remain certified, a member must participate in a combination of continuing education, association activities, community service and /or other related activities to be eligible for annual recertification.

PRO’s continued goal is to help professionalize Ohio’s home improvement industry, while serving as an ally to Ohio’s homeowners. Certification is yet another means of achieving this goal. Professional Remodelers of Ohio is proud to recognize its members who achieved PRO certification.

FOUR DISTINCT CERTIFICATION DESIGNATIONS

CPR
CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL REMODELER

Designed to recognize and identify full-service remodelers. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience and be employed by or own a firm that derives 90% of its sales volume from remodeling.

CPKBS
CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN & BATH SPECIALIST

The CPKBS certification is designed for our members who specialize in the layout, design and remodeling of kitchens and bathrooms as their primary business. The CPKBS designation will allow homeowners to identify contractors who do extensive work in kitchen and bath remodeling, and have gone the extra mile to improve themselves and their company’s capabilities in these areas.

CPLC
CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL LEAD CARPENTER

This designation is for lead carpenters who are skilled and knowledgeable in the technical, hands-on aspects of their work, but also have demonstrated skills and knowledge in product management, supervision and customer service. Candidates must have a minimum of five years experience with at least two of those years as a lead carpenter. Companies who believe in providing quality products will make sure their lead carpenters are trained and certified so they can produce better jobs, be more professional, run projects more efficiently, and interact more proactively with their customers. Contracting your project with a company that employs CPLCs will ensure a more enjoyable journey for you, the customer, as the contractor moves forward with your home improvement project.

CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL TRADE SPECIALIST

Reserved for Ohio’s remodelers who specialize in a particular area of the industry, such as fenestration, roofing, flooring, etc.
